Birthed in 2022 on the Sunshine Coast in south east Queensland, Australia, GOETIA clothing company is the brainchild of Chris Sun and Rob Stanley. Chris and Rob began their professional relationship back in 2014 with the collaboration of designing the giant monster pig for Chris's horror film BOAR. The pair have continued to collaborate ever since, with Rob producing monster designs for Chris's horror films.

The word GOETIA comes from The Lesser Key of Solomon, also known as Lemegeton Clavicula Salomonis, or simply Lemegeton, an anonymous grimoire on demonology compiled in the 17th century from materials a few centuries older. It is divided into five books - the Ars Goetia, Ars Theurgia-Goetia, Ars Paulina, Ars Almadel, and Ars Notoria.

The Latin term GOETIA is derived from the Ancient Greek word γοητεία (goēteía) meaning “charm”, "witchcraft" or "jugglery", and refers to the evocation of demons, or evil spirits.
